DBG Newsletter Nr. 86
DBG congratulates this year’s Nobel laureates, who recently received the highest science awards for paving the way to optogenetics, a technology that uses light-sensitive switches that were discovered while investigating questions in basic alga research. Two of the three laureates are our members!
In our member assembly, participants elected three new Board members and a new honorary member. The assembly thanked committed Board members, at our meeting during the International Conference of our German Society for Plant Sciences (DBG), our Botanik-Tagung, in Bochum. DBG decorated four early career scientists with its famous Strasburger, Pfeffer, and Wiehe Awards
Some of our Sections also elected new speakers and treasurers during their Section’s meetings in Bochum.
The Editors of our journal Plant Biology recommend a review that summarises what we know, what we assume and what remains unknown even after almost 200 years in anthocyanin biosynthesis research.
