Conferences and sponsored meetings
Biennially the DBG holds a scientific congress of about one week, the International Conference of the German Society for Plant Sciences, Botanik-Tagung, which is organized at a university in the German-speaking area. The meeting comprises presents oral presentations, poster-sessions, botanical excursions that cover all plant science disciplines. It is held together with the general assembly (the "plenum") of the society.
The DBG promotes research and expertise in plant sciences by furthering scientific discussions, and the exchange of ideas by supporting workshops and conferences:
- It sponsors scientific meetings and workshops financially
- the Society oversees and provides logistic support as patron
- it encourages and supports the Eduard Strasburger-Workshop and the Hot-Topic-Workshop, both for early career scientists
