YoungDBG: About us
YoungDBG is a network for early career researchers (ECR) from undergraduate level to first junior group leader position within our German Society for Plant Sciences (DBG). We founded the network start of 2026 to respond to the wishes of ECRs, expressed in an online survey. The network aims to bring together early career scientists by providing a network for exchange and to add their ideas to the DBG. The network is currently in its building phase. The first content to be launched will be:
- an e-mail list, which provides news and announcements on jobs, funding and other relevant ECR topics
- an online seminar series to highlight professional career paths inside and outside of academia
- a YoungBT session at every International Conference of our German Society for Plant Sciences (DBG), the Botanik-Tagung (BT) specifically for YoungDBG members starting with BT2028
- an annual meeting of the YoungDBG network together with the ECR representative in DBG’s board
YoungDBG actively shapes itself. Thus, we are open for ideas, input and support on other content and feedback from all members of the network to consistently adapt our offers according to the needs of the ECRs. Please feel free to write to our ECR representative at any time.
