Next DBG's Eduard Strasburger Workshop is on Complexome Profiling in Plants
“Complexome Profiling in Plants: Exploring Organellar Protein Networks” is the title of this year's Eduard Strasburger Workshop for early career researchers (ECRs) made possible by our scientific society. It will be organised by Dr Nils Rugen and Matthias Döring and being held at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany, from 22nd to 24th September 2026. The event is open to 15 early career researchers (ECR), who may attend free of charge. The curriculum covers the essential experimental workflow from organelle isolation to data evaluation, including:
- Plant tissue homogenization and centrifugation-based enrichment of cell fractions
- Native separation of protein complexes using Blue Native Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (BN-PAGE)
- Basic principles of quantitative mass spectrometry to generate protein abundance profiles
- Data evaluation of protein-protein interactions using freely available software.
The practical sessions will be complemented by presentations from invited experts: Prof. Hans-Peter Braun, Dr Holger Eubel (both Leibniz University Hannover), and Dr Etienne Meyer (MLU Halle).
