Plant Research and CongressesResearch of plants is supported by the DBG in various ways: The Society supports scientific discussion at the Congress "Botanikertagung" which addresses a broad range of plant science issues every other year. Moreover it promotes special congresses in two ways: It oversees and provides logistic support and grants financial support. The Society’s main objective is to support the attendance of young scientists to meetings. The DBG also supports the transatlantic RISE-Program of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) for young scientists and maintains this internet platform. Moreover the DBG awards several prizes to young scientists to further their careers and supports young scientists to attend meetings.
